Re(3): severe thigh cramps & overactive bladder
Quinine is normally used for the treatment of malaria and has side effects. Quinine can cause paralysis if accidentally injected into a nerve. It also is extremely toxic in overdose and the advice of a poisons specialist should be sought immediately.
The FDA is also cautioning consumers about off-label use of quinine to treat leg cramps. Quinine IS APPROVED by the FDA for treatment of malaria, but is also commonly prescribed to treat leg cramps and similar conditions. Because malaria is life-threatening, the risks associated with quinine use (paralysis, toxic overdose) are justified for that condition.
Please consult with your Doctor and get second opinion before using Quinidine.
All the best,
Kenrico Support
