In 18 November 2019, Kenrico has alerted public of counterfeit foot pads from China that have been contaminated with salmonella and coliform bacteria. The link to the safety alert can be found here. The safety alert has prompted quick action from the US and European authorities by seizing the counterfeit foot pads in customs and by prosecuting the parties involved in the commercial activity.

Kenrico is dedicated to their customers by protecting the safety of you and your family. Investigation has confirmed the unhygienic conditions of the places that produced the counterfeit foot pads in China. In the following month after the safety alert was announced by Kenrico, a coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak happened in China. It has killed nearly 350,000 people to this date. Because coronavirus is known to stay alive on the surface (referred to as surface contact) for more than 7 days and, the risk of getting infected with coronavirus when using the counterfeit foot pads from China is very high. If you find any counterfeit foot pads originating from China, please alert your authorities and help them protect your friends and families.

For the above reason, Kenrico strongly urge people to only use original foot pads made by Kenrico. All Kenrico products are produced in Japan, guaranteed safe and free from germs. If you are unsure your foot pads are matching the list of the counterfeit photos, please refrain from using any product that does not use Kenrico as its label or does not state Kenrico as its manufacturer.
