autistic child and constipation

Hello there. The message dated July 31, 2007 is regarding my child. I just wanted to clarify. I'm mostly concerned about the reabsorption of metals if bowels are sluggish. I have not used other kinds of detox methods because I was afraid metals would pass through the bowels and possibly get reabsorbed during a longer than usual transit time. The foot pads appeal to me since they go through the skin. So, my question really is, does the detoxing happen only through the skin at the foot or can it cause detoxification through the organs and therefore the bowels. Thanks so much.
