Rheumatism and arthritis

Hello,
I have bought the Gold detox foot pads for my Mum, she suffers from arthritis and rheumatism. I would like to ask if in the first few days after starting the pads, she will experience a worsening of the symptoms, mood swings or other negative reactions as a way to adjust to the detox programme.
I would also like to ask if she can apply the pads to the knees and the shoulders, where she is currently feeling quite intense and constant pain, and if she apply them also during the day.
