Staphylococcus Aureus Infection

Posted on February 17, 2014 at 05:53:41 AM by Bruno
Hi,

Recently, I’ve been suffering from Skin Abscesses which are sometimes accompanied with fever and headache. The affected area is red, swollen, and sometimes very painful.

The Abscesses first start as small lumps and then they get big and become tight. No pus is shown.
At the advanced stage they get even bigger with a middle area filled with yellow Pus. The Pus then breaches the skin and comes out mixed with blood and ends up with a Green Lump thing.

The problem is, when the pus ends and the swollen is gone, it still easy to locate its site on the skin. It looks like the epidermis at this site, in most cases, is damaged and not totally recovered. If there is hair on that area (e.g. The Eyebrow), the hair either won’t grow up again or grow up very very slowly.

The Yellow Pus Culture in the laboratory showed the presence of rare Leukocytes and ’’Gram Positive Cocci’’. A further culture of the ’’Gram +ve cocci’’ showed a growth of Staphylococcus Aureus which is resistant to CEFIXIME only (susceptible to all other antibiotics).

What is(are) the cause(s) behind this infection? Is it contagious?

What is the Green Lump thing that last exits the abscess?

As far as I know, the Staph is a bacterium present in everybody’s skin but it’s not always considered as pathogen. In the case of infection, can we consider the reaction of the immune system as allergy to it and then raising the IgE level?? Or as auto-immunity raising the ANA level??

Aside fever and headache, what are the symptoms related to Staph Infection??

What solution would you suggest for this case??

Thank you in advance,
Warm Regards,
Bruno
