Thermoplastics in alkaline stick

Posted on June 30, 2011 at 03:32:11 PM by Monica
It was reassuring learning which plastics are used in making the alkaline stick. The three high-quality thermoplastics you listed, high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, and polypropylene, are usually considered stable and safe. I do have one question though, actually a need for more information. The #4, low-density polyethylene, can break down in the presence of oxidizing agents commonly used to clean city water. I had planned on using the sticks with tap water, but need more information from you to know whether I should. Also, for many years I drank water contaminated with perchlorate (unknown to me at the time), and where I live now, there is also the same possibility. Can you provide more information, please?
